It's different from Church!

Had great feed back regarding Phil Baker's talks. But you need to realize he doesn't do that routine every week. A couple who were at his Church for a year, said he was humourous, told stories and did life related messages but it wasn't a laugh aminute.WHY?
Because at a conference you do all your best stories, jokes and one liners-they have never heard them before. But when you do local church ,once you've told a story you've told it! You have to come up with fresh material every week.
I know, I do both and when I'm away people say to me "I wish it was like this every week." I feel good and the local guys look boring but it's just not like that in the real world and in local church.
I can only be what I am and I like the way I preach! So I won't be starting this Sunday with "I say, I say, I say...."
Phil was a fresh voice into our lives but we all need a balanced diet. That way you stay healthy. I like a Big Mac every now and then don't you?

I didn't hear the guy but have heard the resulting Bakermania. Intrigued to hear him at some stage but don't be discouraged. You are a good shepherd to us and still inspire.

Good stories are like good wine - they mature with age. I especially like the story about you and Priscilla at the Christian guesthouse and your willingness to get into a good fight!
