Get into the habit

Thanks Alan- very helpful comments.
The research I quoted was from Dr.Peter Brierley who is Executive Director of Christian Research Ltd. It was published in shortened form in a recent copy of Christian Marketplace-a christian magazine.
As a preacher I seem to be endlessly preparing talks or sermons as they used to be called. I really enjoy it and it is the air I breathe. But reading the Bible for others almost exclusively has it's draw backs.
You have to constantly remind yourself that all you are preaching ABOUT IS FIRST AND FOREMOST FOR YOU! But is is easy to lose sight of this. And over the years I have studied the Bible devotionly [for me and not to preach from it.] I have kept a journal, written notes and had a quiet time-but not consistently.
A close friend in Oregon, Pastor Gary Clark has developed something over the past year which has transformed his Church. People are now reading the Bible on a consistent and even daily basis.
More like every day with Jesus instead of every other day with Jesus or even now and again with Jesus. Which one are you?

Hey Paul:
Great blogging over the past few days, it has been great to read. I was just wondering what your mate Gary Clark developed?
Speak soon.
