I knew I was right
Cows could be doing more to harm the environment than four-wheel-drive cars. Methane emissions from cattle account for a quarter of the gas in our air and researchers are trying to find a new way to feed cattle which leads to less belching. [I'm serious]
Michael Abberton of the Institute of Grassland and Environmental Research said that the average dairy cow belches out about 100-200 litres of methane each day. "There is a common misperception about how methane gas gets into the atmosphere," he said "It is actually belching rather than the other end."
So what's the answer?

Is there a disturbing theme emerging linking the production of dangerous hot air and sermons....?

big corks - lots of them

I've never heard a cow preach a sermon, but I hear they can do some pretty amazing things in South Africa.
I think we should be teaching better manners to our calves before it's too late.

Cows & cars & methane - don't you just love this blog. OK there are ~ 1.4 billion head of cattle in the world today. There are ~ 600 million cars/vehicles in the world today. So, if cows could drive, could they produce enough methane to power a methane car. This could open up a whole new career for cows - as chauffeurs. McDonalds becomes Avis, Burger King becomes Hertz. The movie 'Driving Miss Daisy' becomes 'Daisy driving Miss'. Instead of honking a horn they would shout 'Moo ve over'. Enough of the science - thanks for the Blog.

Bovine Gas-X?

I can't remember where, but in some countries they use the Bovine gas as it were to fuel power for their homes...
