Woody Allen

The great philospher and comedian Woody Allen once said that 80% of success was just showing up.
Some people don't get that.
I hear this all the time.
"What's the church doing for me and my age group?" Well what do you want to do? Surprise me.
So we put on Helix and even a Ceildhe for St.Patrick's Night. A great chance to meet with others who are on a similar journey, meet God together and dance the night away!
Are you coming? I don't know. I'll see. The choosen generation to take the land? You're having a laugh.
Get off your backsides and do something!
Aaaaa that felt better.
Show up, you never know you might enjoy yourself.

The "Sorcerer's Apprentice."

I don't know if you have been watching The Apprentice on BBC2 Wed 9.00pm. It's unmisable!
Two groups of budding entrepreneurs are given tasks by the terrifying Alan Sugar and then ripped apart if they don't perform well.
What is really shocking is how they turn on each other and play the blame game to save their own skins. It's the law of the jungle and the survival of the fittest. But you can't stop watching it to see who gets their comeuppance next.
How are we treating our apprentices in a church context? Do we have any? Say what you will about Alan Sugar but he's planning for the future, to ensure his business succeeds. Who are we investing in for the future, individually and corporately? This autumn we are launching "Source." We want to equip people with Word and Spirit to engage a rapidly post christendom society. Teaching them in a life related context with a thorough grounding in scripture . We hope to raise up our own apprentices but treat them rather better than Alan does!
