Vision
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you”.
(Matt 28 : 19)
Throughout the Bible, God’s command to His church is to spread the Good News to all people.
Our vision is to be a Christ-centred community dedicated to impacting Belfast, Ireland and the nations with the love of God, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
We do not see Missions as a department of the church in which only those who might be interested are involved. We believe that mission is a fundamental to the functioning of every department and it is our desire that it be an integral part of every area of church life.
We are committed to world mission – a world that starts next door and reaches to the end of the earth. It is our desire that all members of the church should be involved in world outreach whether as someone who goes or supports through prayer and finances.
We believe that the development and resourcing of partnerships at every level is a key to reaching the world. There is strength in partnership:
“if you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go with someone”.
We believe that God’s instrument to change the world is the church and that whatever our mission activity it must ultimately contribute to building up and resourcing local churches and the planting of new churches.
WE SEEK TO DO THIS BY...
Church Planting in Ireland and Europe. We have planted a number of churches in Ireland including North Down, Holywood, Cregagh and Carrickfergus. We have one couple living and working in Madrid who have a heart to church plant.in Alcala. We are also partnering with a church plant in Bassano Italy.
Continuing to develop partnerships in non-western countries. We have been working in partnership with United Christian Church of India (UCCI) for nearly 20 years training of pastors, child sponsorship, education of children and health care projects.
We are also working in partnership with Ethnos Asia to resource and empower the church in the access restricted nations of South East Asia .
We have been developing a short-term missions programme, which includes sending out teams to various parts of the world including France, Spain, Italy India S.E.Asia and Central Asia. We also host incoming teams who come to assist us in our local outreach. We particularly want to invest and resource where partnerships exist.
Participating in a short-term missions team can be a life changing experience and an invaluable tool to build vision and broaden experience. We would encourage every church member to consider getting involved in a short-term mission initiative.
We consider that an underlying priority to all of this work is to echo with the early church that we might “remember the poor”. We need to share the resources God has given us including people and money, special offerings for famine and disaster relief.
We have a number of church members serving abroad both in church-planting teams and with othe r churches or missionary groups. We seek to support the m through pastoral care, prayer and finances.
