Over the past few years CFC has been involved in what is called a ‘rhythm of prayer’. At the beginning of every year the church fasts and prays for 5 days. This creates another opportunity for us to hear from God and be built up for the coming year. In 2004 we felt challenged to pray for three continuous days at the beginning of each month (24/3), this is the rhythm mentioned. We asked the church to sign up for an hour slot and found it easy to fill up the 24 hours. We have three prayer rooms in a house on the Holywood Road . These rooms are creatively decorated to inspire us to pray through those 3-4am sessions! We pick a topic for each 24/3 and pray into different area of the life of the church, Belfast , Ireland and things happening globally. In 2005 we decided to keep up this rhythm of praying at the beginning of the month but have upped it to 24/5. CFC has been committed to the global prayer movement initiated in South Africa called Transformations. Last year almost 10,000 people came together on Pentecost Sunday at Stormont to pray for our own country and for the nations. This will be repeated on 4 th June 2006 .
