Worship Bands

Adam has been leading worship in CFC for over two year during which he and his band have evolved and grown musically. Adam considers it a real blessing to play with like minded people whose aim and objective is to sensitively lead people into the throne room of God where we can meet and worship Him face to face!!
“The beauty of my journey so far is that I’ve learned that it doesn’t matter to God if you are leading a Youth Fellowship of 3 people or a congregation of 300 – when we open up our hearts honestly and sincerely before God it brings Him joy!”
Adam is married to Heather and they have one son, Josh.

Colin Stitt hails from Belfast; he currently works for Scripture Union Northern Ireland and leads worship regularly at his home church - Strandtown Christian Fellowship (CFC).
Colin has been leading worship for the last ten years at youth, student and church gatherings in Scotland, Belfast and most recently in Thailand.
Colin is passionate about songwriting and using music to lead young people and the church into a place of vibrant praise, and providing the vehicle and space for them to encounter and express their worship to our God.

Ian was a worship leader in church in Shetland for 10 years before moving on the to study at Worship Academy in England, learning from people like Chris Bowater and Andy Bromley. Through this he and his wife felt God leading them to leave Shetland and move to Belfast. Ian has been leading worship here in CFC since Spring 2009.
“We count it a privilege and an honour to lead people into God’s throne room in worship. We are all very passionate about Jesus, and about worshiping Him, and our attitude is that we have an audience of 1 and a choir of many, let the adventure continue…”
Ian is originally from Scotland; he is married to Lynn and they have 3 children (two boys and a lass).

Since beginning to lead worship in CFC in 1994, Johnny has recorded 4 albums and has travelled a fair wee bit with his band to lead worship and teach. Some of the his songs include, ‘All is Well’, ‘Rescuer’, ‘Glory’ and ‘Arise’.
Johnny’s band combine sing-a-long melodies, genre-pushing creativity and raw passion as they seek to break the silence in today’s culture. Firmly rooted in Belfast, they have a deep desire to see change take place in their country. Restoration, peace, hope, love…and to see the walls tumble down.

Nicky has grown up in CFC and is fondly remembered standing at the front of the church as one of our kids pretending to play a toy guitar during worship! Over a number of years he played in a secular band as well as leading youth worship. He has been involved with CFC worship for a few years including singing in church choirs and playing in Marie Lacey’s band, as well as leading worship at various youth events.
Following in his father’s footsteps, he has progressed to becoming one of our worship leaders. Nicky’s band is our latest addition to the team of worship bands in CFC.

Paul and Sharon have been involved in leading worship for a number of years and have recently introduced a brass section to their band which adds a new flavour to their worship style. Their heart is for reconciliation between Christians from all denominations and ages and they lead worship at places like the Christian Renewal Centre in Rostrevor and many interdenominational events as well. Their music has taken them to Africa and America.
Paul and Sharon have three grown up children and two grandchildren.

In 1999 Integrity Music came to Belfast to record a CD that became known as Revival in Belfast. It featured the songs of Robin Mark, and the voices of the congregation that gathered in our church on the Holywood Road in the east of the city.
Robin has gone on to record many other worship albums that have been distributed all over the world. His legacy has been to encourage song writing and many have followed in his footsteps; Robin is a constant encouragement to the young men and women of CFC as they seek to bring praise and worship through new songs.

Terry has been leading worship in Christian Fellowship Church for more than 20 years. Over the years he has developed a vision for times of corporate, extended worship. This has evolved into the Creative Worship Watch. This takes place on the first Friday of each month and lasts for 4 to 5 hours. During this time we facilitate diverse and creative acts of worship including dancers, flag waving, photography, artists, drama, intercession and music. God has opened doors for Terry and the Worship Watch Band to minister in England, Scotland and particularly South Africa. It is Terry’s heart to see God glorified in these times of worship and for a little glimpse of heaven to be experienced here on earth as we draw closer into God’s presence in preparation for the days to come.
We nave recently formed two new youth bands. They have been created to lead worship in the Youth Department. Andy Mc Cann and Paul Francis are responsible for their development. It is an opportunity for them to develop the skills and talents that God has given them individually and as a team. We look forward to hearing them soon.
This is a very valuable group of people. They lead worship at many of the regular events that take place in CFC during the year:
Healing rooms, Alpha, Alpha Plus, Momentum, 31, Cleansing Stream, Prayer rooms, Ministry Training, Weekend Events, Monday night in Antrim and Creative Worship Watch.
They are anointed worship leaders who have been involved in leading worship for many years and we appreciate their willingness to be involved in this ministry.
Pete Roberts
Pete has led worship for many small groups over the last 6yrs from Kids Club, Worship Watch, and Healing Rooms to small groups praying for particular people. He likes to mingle prayer and sung worship together. His passion is Jesus and that is expressed best when he worships.

Creative Worship
Team Leader: Terry Koch
Over the years Terry Koch ad his band has developed a vision for times of corporate, extended worship. This has evolved into the Creative Worship Watch. This takes place on the first Friday of each month and lasts for 4 to 5 hours. During this time we facilitate diverse and creative acts of worship including dancers, flag waving, photography, artists, drama, intercession and music.
Team Leader: Team dance leaders - Natalie Rowe and Amy Wilson
Natalie Rowe and Amy Wilson have formed a youth dance team. They feel that dance is a great way to express praise and worship to God,and they enjoy using the talents that God has given them to do this. They are a very lively bunch of guys (boys and girls!) who really enjoy being part of this team. They meet regularly to make up dances for youth events and for our 3rd service.
Team Leader: Fiona Newell and Zoe Conville
Kindle is the collective name for a group who meet in CFC with a view to “kindling” the God given creative side within us. They have put on events that look at gardening, felting, photography each encouraging us and pushing us to see the magnificance of our creator God in our every day lives.
Team Leader: Karen Cruise

In CFC we use drama as and when required. This may be during a Sunday service, or to address a particular issue at another event.
Our Christmas and Easter Services have made full use of drama to reinforce the powerful gospel message on these special occasions. Marie Lacey has produced drama/music productions in recent years which have made these events very special.
At other times we have put on very successful pantomimes under the direction of Catherine Gardiner a local drama teacher who attends CFC.
Team Leader: Patsy Smyrl

The use of banners and flags greatly enhances worship in CFC. A team of people, under the leadership of Pat Smyrl, meet regularly to listen to God and create and design flags and banners for specific occasions and for general use.

Music Ensembles
Team Leader: Karen Cruise

The CFC orchestra plays at our Christmas events. The overall sound is not as important as the magnificent visual display of musicians of all ages and all abilities worshipping together.
Music is arranged for the orchestral players whatever standard they are at.
The purpose is to provide an orchestral accompaniment for our Christmas music.
It allows notation readers the chance to use their gift of playing orchestral instruments in a worship setting for the glory of God.
Team Leader: Marie Lacey

Marie Lacey has a big heart for worship. She has led worship in CFC as well as at events around the world for many years.
Marie’s ability to inspire and motivate others into worship has made her a wonderful choir director and recently she has been involved in productions for both Christmas and Easter services at CFC.
While Marie has a bias towards Gospel music, the choir has sung in many different genres. Being part of the choir is a highlight of the year for many people as they not only enjoy the singing and worship but build friendships and support. Indeed, during rehearsal, it is not unusual for Marie to stop the practice and start praying for a situation that someone in the choir has mentioned to her. Her rehearsals lift people in many ways and all would agree that they are more than just rehearsals!
